Constance M. Syford was born in Nebraska in 1889. She earned a B.A. in 1909 and an M.A. in 1911 from the University of Nebraska. She was a scholar of Early English literature. During her long career she taught English at Albright College, Millikin University, and the University of Nebraska, among others institutions.
